Who We Are
Acts 2: 42-47

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
Acts 3: 31

After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.
Psalms 1:2-3

Delight in the Law of the Lord, and meditate on His law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither – whatever they do prospers.
Colossians 2: 6-7

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
Our History

About the turn of the century, in the sparsely populated tip of south Ocean City known as Cedar Beach, a group of men and women gathered to worship God on the porch of a home at 51st and Central Avenue. The Ocean City Tabernacle Association learned of these meetings and provided land for the original Chapel, which began construction in 1902. Union Chapel By The Sea was incorporated in September 1930. In 1946, an existing building, later known as “Chapel Hall,” was moved from 53rd and Central Avenue to its present location. The Chapel was enlarged, and the interior was modernized in 1957. The most recent addition, “Friendship Hall,” was dedicated in 1983, which provides a place for Sunday School and other meetings all year-round. In 1985, an ambitious building program began, which saw our sanctuary completely winterized, and in 1996, fully air-conditioned. We now worship all twelve months of the year.
